Healthy habits to implement in 2024

2024 is the year that you improve your life. Having a healthy lifestyle impacts every aspect of your present and future life.

Here are some habits to optimize your life quality:

  1. No social media checking in the first 30 minutes of the day. Instead, implement a spiritual and self-connecting moment. That could be journaling, meditation, breathing exercises, repeating or listening to affirmations, and many more.
  2. Drink enough water. The general recommendation is 2 liters per day. You can personalize it by using the following equation:

Water per day (L) = (35 mL * weight in kg)/1000 mL

For example:

A person who weighs 55 kg
Water per day (L) = (35 mL * 55 kg)/1000 mL
Water per day (L) = 1.93 L

If you sweat during physical activity, you can add half a liter, and remember to listen to your thirst signals.

3. Eat 3–4 portions of fruits and 2-4 portions of vegetables, minimum. These colorful foods are nutrient-dense, so they are full of vitamins and minerals. Also, they contain fiber, which reduces the risk of high cholesterol and several illnesses like cardiovascular disease.

6. Include protein in every meal, for muscle maintenance and muscle mass increase. Combine it with strength training. In the long term, it increases self-sufficiency and reduces fracture probability.
