"Constancy"
by Álvaro Morales Valdés, description:
In this instance, the reflection on the virtue of Constancy is accompanied by this painting depicting a chess player. Uniquely, the board is movable, curved, and only has two movement options, meaning that the man is a pawn with only two movement options; he does not have the advantage of a bishop, nor is he a rook or king, he is a simple pawn, but through his constancy, he has made a path to heaven with his simple nature, given his constancy. The butterfly with an eye appears again, symbolizing astral clairvoyance. Three sheets of paper fly, and on one of them are written the Greek letters Alpha and Omega, the beginning and end, implying that it is humans who decide when to begin or when to end.
Fraternal greetings to all members of this spiritual process.
