"Connection"
by Álvaro Morales Valdés, description:
The rooster Abraxas, with his traditional spear and shield, as a warrior of light, "the rooster crows at dawn," and therefore is a symbol of awakened consciousness. This consciousness never sleeps, and even in a dream state it operates. While we sleep and dream, Freud says that the most hidden instincts in our subconscious appear, but the great Stoic philosopher Marcus Aurelius already taught us that even in a nocturnal state we must remain connected to our higher consciousness so as not to succumb to lower instincts. Two snakes are in conflict, but both emerge from Abraxas's lower extremities, representing the inner moral battle that we all face daily; but it is also an "Ouroboros," that is, a snake biting its own tail, representing life's dual cyclicity and its permanent connection. The levitating stones, one is a blue sapphire related to Saturn in astrology, and represents discipline and materiality. And the other stone is a red ruby, related to Apollo, that is, to the Sun. Saturn and Sun are the hermetic astrological duality (beyond Mars and Venus), because the Sun is light, and Saturn is the planet furthest from light (according to classical hermetic astrology which does not consider Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto). But both the solar and the Saturnian are elemental in human life; the Saturnian is physical labor, and the solar are altruistic ideals and sublime dreams. Thanks Marco, for the opportunity.
