Maca, known as “the root of life” or Peruvian Ginseng,” grows in the Andes, and has been used in that region for centuries.
Maca is rich in Vitamins B1, B2, and B6, and contains minerals, including calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, and selenium. It also contains protein, fiber, and is low in fat.
Mix 1 teaspoon in juice, water, or smoothies or add it to sauces, vinaigrettes, pesto, or dips. It can be sprinkled on granola or fresh fruit.
